Conscience, coffee and Dostoïevski

Nor a N.D.E. nor an anxiety attack, only a caffeine overdose.
So... in #10ThingsAboutMe, fourth Thing : je suis a huge caféinomane/coffeeholic.

A Small But Important Point about what's running on the PC :

"We appease their conscience. Anyone who can appease a man's conscience can take his freedom away from him."

Said by the Smoking Man in a X-Files episode - S3E24 - during a scene that was inspired by a Dostoevsky's text from the novel The Brothers Karamazov. Named The Grand Inquisitor, the chapter can be read here, here, here.
A story in the story, "an important part of the novel and one of the best-known passages in modern literature because of its ideas about human nature and freedom, and because of its fundamental ambiguity."*

Which goes to show that drinking a lot of coffee allows me some interesting nocturnal wanderings - when it's not through videos of kittens but shhh - sleepless, I was able to go seeking the origin of this sentence - with the help of serendipity - it seemed too "quoty", it wasn't placed here only by chance.
